At the memorial site at the corner of Cos Cob Avenue and Lamoine Beach Road, the crowd stopped to pay respects. Neighbors Adrienne Redhair, Lori Spruce and Patti Heath waited with traditional Native American smoking devices to celebrate Jina's spirit. |
| The TV, Radio, and Newspapers covered the event. Mom Patti Haslam told reporters it has been a roller coaster year - the obvious grief at the loss of Jina, but the heartwarming compassion shown by the support of a community every day. | ![]() |
