Highlights from the Dessert Cabaret February 4, 2006
A dessert cabaret was sold out quickly at the Lamoine School. It was a magical evening two days after Jina's Birthday. Scroll down and over to see pictures from the event. There is a DVD of the event. If you would like to order a copy, please e-mail Stu Marckoon (rabbitrunsbs@adelphia.net) for details. Net proceeds will go to the Jina's Gym Fund. Our thanks to Bill Butler for recording the video (some of the pictures below are from that). Approximately $1,400 was raised at the Cabaret

The desserts were scrumptious. While the entertainment was very good, the desserts baked by many from around Lamoine were even better! Rae Dumont (Keyboards), Otho Knowles, (Bass) and Molly Pitcher (Vocals) warmed up the crowd for a great night of food and entertainment.
Jina's sister Angela (Left) was among those in attendance. Lots of mothers and daughters were at the event. At right Lisa Branch (Jina's cousin) and her mom Evelyn Farrell (Jina's great aunt).
Another special mother and daughter combo - Jina's grandmother Enid (left) and Jina's mom Patti (right).
School Board chair Faith Perkins and her daughter Emily Crotteau who was Jina's friend and graduated from 8th grade with Jina just days before Jina's death. Another friend and classmate of Jina, Cara Weber (left) and her mom Pat Haugh who's the art teacher at the Lamoine School
Mackenzie Curtis delivered a excerpts from the poem Rainbow Wings at the cabaret. Mackenzie was a teammate of Jina on the basketball and cheering squads. She's an excellent public speaker and delivered the poem from memory. What a precious moment. Kelly Henry (Left) and Linnea Rogers (Right) sing "Maybe" from the hit musical "Annie". Linnea was also Jina's cheering teammate. Kelly's dad is the pastor at the Lamoine Baptist Church who conducted Jina's funeral
There is no doubt that the highlight of the show was the butterfly dance to Pachelbel's Canon Dancers included Madison Brown, Karla Butler, Alexandra Fitch, Genevieve Goebel, Emily Lawly, Alanna Lindsey, Mairi Manring, Jane Parlee, and Emily Rose.
