Nat Putnam has been on vacation so no answer to Directors and/or Members voting and no information to report regarding the changes voted for the By Laws at the March 26 meeting. After a brief discussion and according to the interpretation of our By Laws, only Directors will vote. A checking account has been opened with many thanks to Lisa and Stuart Branch for their donation of $100.00.
Bill Neleski asked about the status of membership. The unanimous opinion is to keep all members informed, keep them interested and participating in the project and welcome new members. We will keep Stu Marckoon, the Selectmen and the School Board informed by sending them minutes and attending a future meeting(s).
John Walls stated that he spoke at the Town Meeting to update those present.
Brett Jones suggested future letter writing to former donors ( Enid has a list) and to Town residents via Bulk Mail postage, if available. Also to keep information updated on the Jina Gym web site, and the Town web site, if possible.
BUILDING MATERIALS possible donation from Varco-Pruden was updated by Tom St. Claire. The building frame, 120 ft. wide, clear span by 130 ft. is presently located at Associated Builders and needs to be removed. The present value is between $75,000 and $100,000. An engineer's stamp is required prior to any construction. Tom's Company has estimated the cost to complete the shell with roof and insulation at approximately $100,000 for a 120' x 125', 25' spans, 22' sidewalls to eves (cannot be cut down) and a 212 pitch roof.
Tom has a place in Sullivan to store the materials. He also has equipment for transport. Said a 30' flatbed is needed. He thinks between himself, Perry Fowler and others he could transport the materials. Tom suggested by getting a shell up it would encourage more donations and volunteer helpers.
More discussions followed regarding RSU, school consolidation, total cost, town approval, site for building, land and maintenance issues. Brett stated Municipal Buildings require stricter regulations. Bob gave a brief review on RSU, possibility of Towns retaining ownership of schools and stricter building requirements for schools.
